Dubai… My base… The place I come back to when traveling through Arabia. Here I regroup, refocus, and spend time planning the next “escape”. Escape is the appropriate word. Towers and air conditioned shopping malls don’t excite me, neither does brunching while trying to look expensive. Luckily adventure is at my doorstep if wiling to take some risks and leave behind my comfort zone. Magnificent deserts, mountains, this region has too much to offer to stay in the city.
From here I will venture in the desert, surf the sand dunes, climb the Al Hajar Mountains and follow ancient tracks and dry wadii until the rocks fall in the Indian Ocean near Sur in Oman. I’ll name this journey through this magnificent land, The Oman Trail.
